The Key Elements of Great

Important Things You Should Know About the Second Coming of Christ

Are you a born again believer? Maybe you believe in Jesus and you have heard that one day he is returning to earth. You may have even watched a few movies that depict the end times. However, most people tend to go on the stories they hear and few of them take the time to base their teachings or even what they choose to believe in the very teachings of the Bible. That being said, it is important for you to know what the Bible actually teaches about the second coming of Christ.

Like a Thief
One of the things the Bible teaches us that Christ’s return will be like that of a thief in the night. Everyone will be minding their own business going on with life as usual. And when it happens many people may be caught unawares. However, this is not to mean that everyone will be caught off guard. There is more to it.

People Will be Caught up
One of the teachings of the Bible about the return of Christ is that there will be people caught up with him in the air when he comes to take the church. Not everyone will die according to what Apostle Paul says in Thessalonians. Because in a moment, and in the twinkling of an eye (rapidly) people will be caught up both the living and those that would have died in Christ during their lifetime. However, the Bible is clear that only the dead in Christ will rise first during this time, then the few that are alive and remain will be caught up to be with him in the heavens.

Some Will be Ready
In the Bible, there is a parable about the 10 virgins. Five of them were prepared during the marriage ceremony to welcome the groom. However, the other five did not have enough oil to help their lamps burn through the night. The five who were prepared are a sign that many believers will be ready looking forward to the return of the King. Regardless of Christ’s return as a thief in the night, this will not be of a shock to those who are waiting on him because they will know the signs of the times.

Preaching of the Gospel
When Jesus was on earth his disciples asked him how they would know when he would return. And Jesus went into a detailed explanation of what the eschatological times would look like. He talked about wars and rumors of wars, families turning against each other and much more. But the main sign that he gave them was that the son of man would only return once the true gospel had been preached to the ends of the earth.

There will be Confusion
Finally, when Christ returns there will be a lot of confusion on the planet for those who have no idea what would have just happened. Many people will be taken up, and those that remain will have to deal with the mystery of how people just vanished.
